Have you decided it’s time to straighten your smile? We are excited to work with you to achieve your dream smile! There are many different types of braces at Maynard V Davenport Orthodontics to help you choose the right method for your smile.

Metal/Traditional Braces

Most people automatically think of metal or traditional braces when they think of orthodontics. These are the most common type of braces, consisting of metal brackets and wires where the brackets are attached to the front of your teeth and connected with metal wires. Modern metal braces have become smaller and less noticeable, and they use heat-activated archwires that draw from your body heat to move your teeth faster and with less discomfort.

Ceramic Braces
Similar to metal/traditional braces, ceramic braces are less noticeable because they use tooth-colored or clear brackets instead of silver-colored brackets and wires. To further enhance the natural color of your braces, you can use tooth-colored wires.

Lingual Braces
Lingual braces use the same materials as metal braces; however, the wires and brackets attach to the inner surface of the teeth to make them less noticeable.

These clear, plastic aligners are custom made to fit over your smile and are shaped like mouth guards. You will go through about 18-30 trays, replacing the aligners every two weeks.

Not every orthodontist offers these options, and some options may not be optimal for your smile. If you are interested in learning more about your options for braces in Lakeside, Arizona, call Maynard V Davenport Orthodontics at 928-367-2939 and schedule a consultation with Dr. Maynard Davenport.
